You will serve as a ENGINEERING EQUIPMENT OPERATOR in the TRANSPORTATION DIVISION, OPERATIONS BRANCH MOTOR VEHICLE of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII.

Duties

You will evaluate types of soils, and terrain features to select the appropriate type equipment, attachments and/or accessories and configuration needed to execute assigned work in a safe and efficient manner. You will perform minor maintenance on equipment; for example, checking/refilling fluids, changing filters, lubricates fitting, and makes minor adjustments. You will operate heavy equipment to excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth to rough specifications. You will rough grade the earth to the general contour desired, as well as fine surfacing on flat or rolling terrain. You will inspect equipment for signs of wear or damage to maintain safe operating condition.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: Your Your resume must show that you have the ability to perform common tasks under general supervision including: 1) Performing minor maintenance on equipment; 2) Performing subsurface preparation, constructing, repairing asphalt and cement surfaces; 3) Operating vehicles such as bulldozers, road graders, backhoes, and large industrial tractors, as the workload requires; 4) Operating equipment safely where the work is close to buildings, power poles, utility lines, trees, drop-offs, rocks and/or other obstructions. ***NOTE: This experience must be clearly and fully supported in your resume.
