You will serve as a CONGRESSIONAL AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the DIRECTOR FOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION of NAVAL SEA SYSTEMS COMMAND.

Duties

You will coordinate responses of owned processes and products to Congressional inquiries, Congressional Reports, schedule briefings concerning the organization on matters requiring immediate attention. You will ensure implementation of administrative protocol programs for Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA). You will ensure compliance with Command goals, objectives and requirements of Congressional and Legislative taskings, reports, and correspondence management. You will review and edit correspondence for regulatory and procedural accuracy. You will ensure compliance with deadlines, requirements, and final results in response to action items. You will develop complex products including briefing materials, spreadsheets, workbooks, ad hoc databases, and other documents for performing and overseeing Congressional and Legislative products and projects. You will provide expert advice to senior level managers concerning unusual or critical issues of Congressional responses. You will analyze, evaluate and advise on Congressional processes, procedures and strategies for meeting management requirements.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 pay band (GS-11 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector executing and advising on Congressional inquiries, Congressional reports or briefing material to ensure compliance with administrative protocols, regulatory policies or requirements in support of in support of an organization's congressional matters.
