About the Position: This Electronics Technician is located at US Army Operational Test Command, Air & Missile Defense Test Dir (AMDTD), with duty location of Fort Bliss, TX.

Duties

Represent the organization in high level conferences with information such as program reports, updates on assigned projects, data quality assessments, test instrumentation status, and overall operations resources. Provide consultation and direct automated data acquisition (DAQ) instrumentation support for assigned test projects. Analyze test techniques and or methods to in support of mission. Coordinate test planning and or instrumentation integration with integrated staff. Provide theoretical and empirical knowledge to design better and or new approaches on assigned instrumentation systems. Disseminate updates to internal and external stakeholders on tracked program objectives. Monitor the progress of supported testing, such as adequacy, completeness and accuracy of the instrumentation systems and test data. Evaluate recommendations using considerations such as availability of funds and other resources, broad program goals, and or agency priorities for assigned test projects. Recommend and or implement software changes for optimizing overall system performance. Develop technical documentation to support requirements such as status reports, catalog inserts, deployment and recovery action plans, technical processes and procedures. Execute actions to support operational test data collection requirements as defined by test team leadership.

  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station up to 40% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:(1) experience utilizing various transducers, signal conditioning equipment, telemetry, network monitoring, networked DAQ data acquisition (DAQ) devices, data quality control, and DAQ system software for operational support of test project; and (2) experience using Agency procedures, regulations, directives and requirements to include National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) related to cyber security and risk management framework (RMF) to support authority to operate (ATO) certification and sustainment activities for variety of instrumentation/data collection/modeling-simulation systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower level/grade position in the federal service (NJ-03/GS-11).
