You will serve as a Transportation Specialist in the Public Works Department of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.

Duties

You will control the use of Government fuel credit cards for a command. You will gather reports and other data to validate vehicles and equipment. You will prepare timely mileage reports for assigned vehicles. You will answer phone calls to respond to provide basic information to customers.

Requirements

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1.) Performing transportation assistant work in support of the organization's fleet management program; (2.) Operating a vehicle dispatch program and monitoring and preparing vehicle cost, maintenance, registration, and inspection reports; (3.) Maintaining files and researching supporting material in response to routine inquiries and questions; (4.) Using automated information systems including Word, Excel, Maximo, FMVRS to generate recurring reports addressing operational costs and cost estimates; (5.) Reviewing status of customer job order numbers for availability of funds prior to authorizing work or dispatching vehicles, reviewing customer qualifications, licenses, and requirements prior to issuing vehicles or equipment and (6.) Inspecting vehicles, keeping records of vehicle condition, monitoring vehicle maintenance due for specific vehicles, and arranging for servicing, repairs, and safety inspections. Education

In addition to specialized experience, you may also qualify for this position based on education as follows:

Successful completion of one full year of graduate level education with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

OR

Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, nautical science, marine affairs, marine engineering, marine transportation, or other fields related to the position.

OR

A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. In which the percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
