About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the HQ US SOUTHCOM, Security and Intelligence Directorate, Miami, Florida, 94A.

Duties

Conduct TEMPEST countermeasures and provide advice. Utilize Protected Distribution Systems (PDS) regulations and directives in performance of tests and reviews and communicate PDS issues. Analyzed and determined future procedures requirements that will improve TEMPEST testing process. Develops and interprets broad physical security policies and regulations, making recommendations for changes in basic physical security processes and methods to satisfy policy and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • When designated, incumbent must complete a Special Background Investigation and favorable adjudication by a determining authority and must be eligible for a Top-Secret clearance and access to Sensitive Compartmented Information.
  • A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.
  • Work requires occasional domestic and international travel away from the duty station. Employee must be available for recall outside normal working hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) may be required up to 25%.
