This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Maryland, New York, Florida, California, Virginia, Illinois and Texas Divisions.
This position(s) primary purpose is to support the Operational Support Division, Office of Forensic Science (SF) Field Laboratories and reports to the Laboratory Administrative Officer (LAO).

As a , your typical work assignments may include:
Manages the life cycle of all evidence submitted to the laboratory including non-drug, drug, bulk, and non-diversion/diversion seizures.
Receives, inspects, catalogs, and organizes all evidence as well as legal document submissions.
Creates records in accordance with DEA and the Office of Forensic Science office.
Provides operational assistance to customers, both domestic and international in the area of evidence handling and submission.
Conducts evidence storage and handling in compliance with all laboratory accreditation requirements.

- Certification: Employee may be required to be trained/certified in the operation of industrial equipment, such as forklifts. Employee may be required to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B and drive semi trucks and/or box trucks.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's (MVO) License: Applicant must possess and maintain a valid MVO license while employed in this position.
Qualifications
Applicants must meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.
You may qualify at the GS-11 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-301-09 grade level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private sector) that demonstrate your ability in:
1) Assisting with oversight, receipt, maintenance, safekeeping, and disposition of seized evidence from cradle to grave; 2) Utilizing an evidence or inventory automated system to appropriately document and update evidence; 3) Conducting training on evidence processes and procedures.
Specialized experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. One year of specialized experience for this position includes:

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-11 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-09. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
