JOB DESCRIPTION: Counterintelligence (CI) Officers detect, analyze, and mitigate foreign intelligence and terrorist threats affecting NGA personnel, technologies, infrastructure, and/or capabilities. They conduct CI inquiries; support investigations; research and analyze data; provide CI training and awareness; and conduct briefings and debriefings. Duties
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Serves as the senior expert for counterintelligence (CI) support to Offensive Counterintelligence Operations (OFCO), sensitive activities and programs, and damage assessments. Establishes relationships and conducts liaison with DoD OFCO executors. Identifies and nominates requirements that may be satisfied by OFCO. Compiles and refers information that may provide the opportunity for OFCO. Represents NGA at all national-level OFCO working groups, meetings, and venues. Coordinates with appropriate NGA Program Managers, Project Managers, and Geospatial Protection Officers to provide CI support (e.g., CI functional services, CI analysis, etc.) to sensitive NGA programs and activities. Liaises with the Geospatial-Intelligence Protection Division and other relevant offices to facilitate appropriate CI support to sensitive programs. Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Demonstrated experience working with special access programs, controlled access programs, and/or other sensitive programs.2. Demonstrated experience briefing senior leaders (e.g., senior executive service civilians, general/flag officers).3. Demonstrated experience conducting counterintelligence activities (investigations, operations, collections, functional services, analysis & production).4. Demonstrated experience working with DoD OFCO executers.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Security, Area Studies, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience in security, law enforcement, counterintelligence investigations, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. -AND- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Successful completion of an accredited Counterintelligence Special Agent Credentialing Course, the Defense Counterintelligence Agents Course (DCAC) or Service Equivalent Counterintelligence Certification Course as directed by management; Successful completion of the ITC TSCM Fundamentals Course may be required.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated experience conducting and/or directly supporting OFCO.2. Seven or more years' experience conducting counterintelligence activities (investigations, operations, collections, functional services, analysis and production).3. Graduate of an accredited federal or DoD CI training academy.4. Demonstrated experience providing Counterintelligence support (e.g., functional services, analysis) to sensitive programs and/or activities. 5. Demonstrated experience producing damage assessments for unauthorized disclosures. 6. Demonstrated experience sharing information, work, and resources with peers and consistently demonstrating willingness to be relied on for help where needed.
