Duties
In this position you will serve as a Senior Financial Data and Systems Analyst responsible for providing financial data analytic and systems expertise to programs and offices throughout CBP, but not limited to: serving as an expert and senior analyst on current analytical systems, tools and techniques, and an advisor to CBP organizational elements on data and financial technical solutions to their challenges.
This position starts at a salary of $132,368.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $172,075.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $172,075.00 (GS-14 Step 10).
In this position, you will become a key member of the Office of Finance team performing the below typical work assignments:
Planning, researching, and implementing a wide range of projects across the CBP-enterprise requiring gathering, interpretation, and application of workforce, financial, and performance management data.
Providing authoritative senior technical expertise, specialized in financial and revenue systems knowledge, to sustain and enhance financial data integrity and processes.
Responsible for technical oversight, project planning management and work products associated with implementation of new or enhancement of existing financial or mixed financial systems.
Supporting strategic decisions by OF and CBP senior management with comprehensive data and/or system analysis by recommending and developing solutions to support strategic initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
Developing solutions for complex financial data systems.
Assessing and developing system and processes to adhere to financial regulations, querying, programming, managing and analyzing large volumes of financial and non-financial data for reporting.
Assessing and developing recommendations to improve workforce operations and performance.
Providing direction or technical assistance in implementing application controls.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP. Individuals are required to have physically resided in the United States or its protectorates (as declared under international law) for at least three of the last five years. If you do not meet the residency requirement and you have been physically located in a foreign location for more than two of the last five years, you may request an exception to determine if you are eligible for a residency waiver by meeting one or more of the following conditions:
Working for the U.S. Government as a federal civilian or as a member of the military
A dependent who was authorized to accompany a federal civilian or member of the military who was working for the U.S. government

Working as a contractor, intern, consultant or volunteer supporting the U.S. government
Probationary Period: All employees new to the federal government must serve a one year probationary period during the first year of his/her initial permanent federal appointment to determine fitness for continued employment. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
