Duties

This position will allow you to use your expertise in security to provide advisory and technical services to CBP management. This position starts at a salary of $91,270.00 (GS-12, Step 01) to $141,089.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $141,089 (GS-13, Step 10). Provides accurate and timely reporting of security-related status of projects, data, and statistics as requested by the CCSO, and report violations of policy, regulations, laws, and directives to the appropriate CBP compliance area. Coordinates with OPR on security clearance related matters for the Field Office. Provides security clearances briefings, and debriefings of foreign contact visits and reports; maintains the security clearance database and engages on issues that directly affect security clearance suitability and determinations. Manages and maintains personnel security records, to include overseeing the completion of required annual Security Refresher Training courses in coordination with the SSO; conducts appropriate SCI briefings/debriefings as assigned for cleared personnel.

Experience: You qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Interpreting and applying several subject matter policies and regulations that apply to the access and protection of classified information. Reviewing, analyzing, and resolving a variety of conventional security problems based on independent review of established criteria, methods, techniques and procedures, and new policy issuances. Determining and recommending alternative methods for resolving problems. Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Independently analyzing and resolving complex security problems. Initiating and leading projects involving the evaluation of security programs and operations. Developing and implementing policy, standards, and procedures for security programs.
