THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a AIRFIELD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T7120000 and is part of the PA State Army Aviation Office, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement. Duties

As a AIRFIELD OPERATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-2150-09, you will process flight plans, conducting necessary research and/or queries in the coordination of scheduled flights. Assists the Airfield Operations Officer in the research and evaluation of airfield data, specific to airfield facilities, construction plans for the airfield, and changes/modifications- to airfield construction projects and/or priority adjustments. Participates in the scheduling of airfield activities with tenant and transient unit commands, requiring use of the airfield. Perform daily airfield inspections/checks for conditions, physical security, and force protection to ensure a safe airfield environment. Perform other duties as assigned.

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Bargaining Position AOC A: NG Employees working at the location specified AOC B: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard AOC C: Open to the public TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status. INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice. The supervisor for this position is Mr. Daniel Fladger. *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Tier 1 Security Clearance. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate experience that provided a general knowledge and understanding of traffic or transportation programs or operations. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 24 months experience in maintaining, retailing, purchasing, or procurement of automotive, rail, air, bus, or other transportation equipment or services, or in the operation of a commercial transportation facility or terminal. Experience that shows demonstrated knowledge of fleet operations; familiarity with Federal, State, and municipal regulations governing the use of transportation vehicles; and the maintenance of inventories and cost computations. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
