This National Guard position is for a Social Worker, Position Description Number T5012000 and is part of the NJ MEDICAL COMMAND, New Jersey Army National Guard. The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate preventive, remedial, and support services to optimize psychological health and readiness of National Guard (NG) military members and their families.

Qualifications

General Experience: Must have knowledge of social work theories, principles, techniques, and resources. Specialized Experience: Must have 24 months of experience in in the following: Clinical social work assignments Providing assistance and services Helping people work-out plans for improving the situation Interviewing people to establish the nature and extent of their problems Referring people to community resources and other organizations as indicated Assisting people to understand and modify their own patterns of behavior when appropriate

Education

Education Requirements

• Master's degree in Social Work from a graduate school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and acceptable to The Surgeon General.
